This past Friday was an adventure in minimalism to say the least. The hubby and I were like the Wonder Twins, activating our de-cluttering powers. We didn’t have matching rings or outfits or weird haircuts, though. Maybe if I ran around yelling “Activate!”, I could’ve made that happen.
Any who, we went on a tear through our garage and closets flinging items with reckless abandon into bag after bag. Well, not really flinging… Someone might get hurt. Gently toss maybe?
When we loaded up my car the first time, we headed over to Goodwill. We got rid of a lot of items including a bag of baby clothes my daughter no longer fits into, and a bag of clothes I no longer fit into. Both of which are going on my list of 31 Things, thank you very much.
The second time we loaded up my car, we headed over to the Salvation Army and dropped off a donation there. It felt so good to have an empty car and know that all of our items/clothing are going to good places.
We were ruthless in what we got rid of and our space is getting more organized by the second. I really am a neat freak, but even neat freaks have to make allowances for the wonderful messes that kids make and how sometimes, there just isn’t enough time in the day to organize.
Oh, and in case you are wondering, yes all of my books are alphabetized. Yes, I am that person.
