This past Saturday, I attended the Penelope Lane Bloggers Conference which also happened to have a lovely craft boutique from which to swoon over. I came, I saw, I bought, I learned.
I learned quite a bit.
The attendees heard from 4 women with voices. Unique voices that rang true with conviction and faith. Voices that invited us into their world and they shared their stories.
Their stories of the hard knocks at first. The admittance of, in those early days, not quite having the hang of the thing we call blogging under control.
But then they found their truth. And that truth of loving what it is you do.
Be authentic, they said. Be real, they reminded us.
And we were real. This audience that listened in rapt attention, pens scribbling on paper. We breathed in every word. We committed faces, expressions, intonations, to memory.
And there was laughter. And tears. For some of the speakers really and truly poured their hearts out to us. Raw and unbound.
I learned so much about blogging and how to measure one’s success. How to build a brand and be authentic in everything you do.
And most importantly for me, to give back.
I also learned that we all have a story to tell and friends, I have so much more to tell you. To share with you.
I am so glad that I became aware of Penelope Lane and the beautiful crafts and the amazing blogging conference.
All of us burgeoning bloggers are, I am sure, glad we took that Saturday to learn. And listen to women that had something powerful to say.
